Vine Leaf Garland
As the grapevines deepen into shades of burgundy, amber, and russet, I feel drawn to preserve a bit of that warmth well into the winter months. That’s why I’ve created something to do just that: a Paper Vine Leaf Garland that beautifully captures the spirit of autumn.
With just a handful of materials and a little time, this project brings the warmth and richness of the season into your home. Whether draped over a doorway or stretched across your dining table, it feels as if autumn herself has wandered in and decided to stay.
Let’s get crafting, shall we?

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Download and Print
Begin by downloading the printable Paper Vine Leaf Garland. The design features leaves in warm, earthy tones perfect for autumn. For a sturdier garland, print on cardstock (around 160 gsm), though regular paper will work if that’s what you have on hand.
Step 2: Cut Out the Leaves
Carefully cut out each leaf, following the edges as closely as you can. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect—those tiny imperfections add a handmade charm that makes your garland uniquely yours.
Step 3: Punch Holes for Threading
Using a hole punch or needle, add two small holes where marked on each leaf. These will help the leaves lie flat and drape naturally when strung.
Step 4: String the Garland
Lay your leaves out and arrange them in an order that feels balanced and pleasing. Once you’re happy with the layout, thread them onto your twine. Leave some extra twine at each end for easy hanging or tying. Adjust the spacing as you go until it looks just right.
Step 5: Display Your Garland
Your garland is ready to bring a cozy, seasonal touch to your space. Hang it over a doorway, drape it across a shelf, or weave it along a table for a warm autumnal centerpiece.
A Quiet Celebration of the Season
As you craft this Vine Leaf Garland, I hope it brings you a moment of joy—a chance to pause, reflect, and welcome the beauty of autumn. The shorter days and softer light of the season are the perfect excuse to slow down and savour simple joys.
Happy crafting, and may your home feel as warm as the colours of autumn itself.
